Communication at Your Fingertips Using Technology and Social Networking as Communication ToolsCamilla Downs, President of the Turning Views Foundation and Turning Views Inc, will present a session for affected individuals and family members at the annual Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society Conference in July 2011 (July 19-24th).
Attendees will explore using smart phones as a communication tool and use of AAC apps for smart phones as a means of communication for those with speech impediments or who are nonverbal. Attendees will also explore the safe use of social networking sites and blogging as a way for those with speech impediments to stay connected and communicate with family and friends.
All participants will leave with a clear idea of how they or their loved one can use these tools and next steps to take when they return home.
